Who

Harry McCarney Founder/CEO

Harry has over 10 years experience building tech products for a wide range of clients from investment banks, multi national NGOs to early stage startups. He is passionate about how a simple idea can be fleshed out and transformed into a fully featured product.

Martin Peschke Founder/CTO

Martin has over 8 years professional experience building software for the private sector. Full stack web app development, from database to javascript rich UI's, test and test automation are his passion.

Where

Based in the heart of east Berlin, the cultural center and the startup capital of Europe. We work with the most talented creatives on the most innovative projects. This gives us a uniquely fresh approach to our work and the opportunity to get feedback from local artists and entrepreneurs who are shaping our future. We leverage our agile, feedback based methodology using skype conferencing fro clients all over the world. We do insist on meeting our clients face to face at least once, either here in our work shop or at your location.

How

Our team's combined experience of over 20 years has led to us a very refined and focused development methodology for rapidly brainstorming ideas to full featured live products in less than 2 months. We divide a project into 8 sprints each of which lasts 1 to 2 weeks. At the start of each sprint we specify with you what we want to build in the sprint. At the end of each sprint we release the features in fully testable format which you can use. This process ensures that you get regular meaningful feedback and steer your product's development from beginning to end.

One of the biggest dating sites in Europe. The 8 Sprint team built eDarling award winning anti fraud system and recurring billing system. eDarling’s success is largely built on users trust and ease of payment. The anti fraud system monitors platform activity, highlights suspicious user activity sandboxes flagged users. Essentially removing them from the platform while avoiding repercussions usually associated with out right banning users. The billing engine is built on top of a 3rd party payment provider and allows flexible, minimal friction payments together with highly configurable, daily changing payment plans and special offers.

"Others never got anything done. But 8sprints delivered!"

Lloyd's is one of the largest banks in the UK had built a highly complex system for integrating dividend payouts for schemes held by the majority of UK share holders in public companies. Their original system was much too slow for today's fast paced customer facing site and the reporting demands of their analysts. We were tasked with improving the performance of the system both for data analysis and consumer account retrieval. After several iteration we had the analysis routines running in 2.5 minutes down from 20 hours and the previously timing out site allowed response times of no more than 20 ms.

We were in charge of all technical aspects, designing and building a postgres/java based backend with integrated fraud detection leveraging external creditworthiness information providers and automating HBCI for bank data retrieval. A full, scalable site for group gifting and crowd funding was launched inside of 3 months and iterated over 3 major versions. Friendfund is the go to social group gifting and fund raising site. friendfund is built on a stable, scalable service oriented backend architecture, reliable social network integrations, banking level financial transaction system with a configurable game rule system to accommodate different payment/deal scenarios.
